If interested, or if you have any questions, please feel free to contact Bob or Denise at the above phone or email address. Or drop by, our hours are 9am to 5pm Monday through Friday, and are located in the log building, across the street from the Ninilchik General Store. For your convenience we do have our applications online, and they may be downloaded from our website under the Housing Programs section.

HOME OWNERSHIP PROGRAM

This program is for first time homeowners. Applications are taken and placed on a list. Applicants are required to update information on a yearly basis and final verification will be conducted as applicant is at top of list. This is a first come, first served, per verification of eligibility and availability of funds. By acting as the bank, we are able to carry the note, and therefore are able to process applicants even through they may not have a perfect credit history. Homeowners are required to carry full coverage insurance and pay the property taxes.

REHABILITATION / MODERNIZATION PROGRAM

This program will do most major Rehab or Modernization home needs. Examples of such jobs are to help with foundation, roof repairs, upgrade your home for handicap or disability need or even to help with the over crowdedness by building an addition. This is a once in a lifetime grant and limits are $30,000 on homes and $10,000 on mobile homes. Sorry but because of limited funding and the Federal Lead Based Paint ruling, we will be unable to help those homes built prior to 1/1/1978, unless the applicant can provide a proof of no lead paint certificate from an EPA licensed & certified contractor.

EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

This program is to help prevent our people from becoming homeless due to eviction, foreclosure, or disconnect of a major service such as; electricity, heating oil, propane or something that could impose a safety or health problem. Limit is $2000.00 dollars per Home/Household over a 2-year period, with only 3 separate assists per year.

WEATHERIZATION PROGRAM

This program is to help make your primary home more heat efficient through installing insulation, thermal windows, insulated doors or even skirting around your home. Limit is $2000.00 per Household/Home every 5 years and if applicants are willing to do their own work the full $2000.00 can be used against the purchase of materials.

SNOW PLOWING / SNOW REMOVAL PROGRAM

This program is only for those people that have received assistance from one of the other programs listed above, and are either 62 or older, or are receiving Social Security Disability. Limit is $700.00 per season unless approved by NTC Director.
