This internship supports fieldwork, communications, and outreach for a beaver restoration and peatland research project on the Kenai Peninsula. Working with the Kachemak Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve (KBNERR), Alaska Wildlife Alliance, and Ninilchik Traditional Council (NTC), the intern will assist with fieldwork, photography, video, blog writing, and public outreach related to habitat restoration and conservation. The internship provides hands-on experience in environmental science, science communication, and multimedia storytelling. The position runs June 1 through August 31, 2026.
This position provides support in the NTC Resource Department in the development, operations, maintenance, and management of current and future Resource programs. Programs include federal contracts, grants, and discretionary work performed by the Ninilchik Tribe. The workplace is multidisciplinary and engaged in activities that are technically sound, scientifically based, and compliant with regulatory frameworks. This position is designed to provide support to the Ninilchik Subsistence Fisheries, Forestry, and Resource/Environmental Programs.
This position provides direct patient care at the Ninilchik Traditional Council Community Clinic (NTCCC), ensuring strict confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA policies and clinic protocols. This integrated role is accountable to the Tribal Health Director Nurse Case Manager, Nurse Practitioner (NP), Doctor of Osteopathy (DO), and Medical Doctor (MD) in accordance with program guidelines. Duties are performed in alignment with Indian Health Service (IHS) standards and the American Association of Medical Assistants under the direction of an onsite Licensed Medical Health Provider, who must be present in the clinic. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
This position is for a primary bus driver for the Ninilchik Transit bus system. The applicant must possess and maintain a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License with a Passenger (P) endorsement in Alaska with a clean driving record.
The PRSS provides direct peer support to the Medically Assisted Treatment program (MAT) and re-entry that includes linkages to employment, housing, education, and community resources. This position will promote and provide peer support programs, community support groups, and social media avenues within recovery services and surrounding communities.
